Tues, June 23, 6:00pm, Open Hearing on the 2010 Cincinnati Budget, held jointly by the Finance and Vibrant Neighborhoods Committees of City Council.
The City of Cincinnati is facing a dramatic decrease in revenue because of the recession. The city administration is projecting a $40 million budget deficit for 2010. The purpose of these early budget hearings is to:
- Provide neighborhood leadership and residents background information about the 2010 budget; and,
- Hear from neighborhood leadership and residents regarding their budget priorities.
Council's challenge is to carefully balance spending so we can continue to protect the quality of life in our neighborhoods and enhance Cincinnati's ability to compete in the world economy.
It is important that we hear from you. Unlike previous years, we would like to hear your ideas before the City Manager prepares the budget, not after. Council needs to understand your priorities before making important decisions.
Location:: Oakley Community Center, 3882 Paxton Avenue (Hyde Park Plaza)
