The PBS Kids Democracy Project - Activities and lesson plans designed to: introduce the structure and duties of local, state and federal government; understand how government affects our everyday lives, through laws, institutions and services provided in the community; identify the duties of the U.S. president and skills necessary to be a good president; understand the history of voting rights in America, and how voting and other forms of civic involvement are essential to a healthy democracy. The online activities are designed for students in grades three to six, with accompanying lesson plans.

"We the People: Skills for Democracy" League of Women Voters of Minnesota lesson plan. K-6 citizenship curriculum based on the Preamble to the United States Constitution. The seven lessons tackle issues such as diversity, fairness, personal and community stability and safety, and what it means to be part of a group. Each lesson includes teacher guidance, specialized upper and lower elementary sections, activities for each lesson, suggested literature for coordinated reading assignments, and includes the National Civics Content Standards addressed by the lesson.

Kids Voting USA - A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that educates young people about the significance of an informed electorate and about the importance of voting to sustain democracy. The Kids Voting program is a curriculum for grades K-12, supplied to the schools at no cost. Students learn about the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. The curriculum includes activities about the election process, evaluating information, understanding issues, and identifying leadership characteristics in candidates. The curriculum is comprehensive and grade-specific and seeks to develop information-gathering skills in students to aid in critical decision-making.
